Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle, has appealed to the federal government on behalf of Lawan Andimi.

Andimi was abducted on January 2 when Boko Haram attacked Michika. He was also a pastor at the Church of the Brethren and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

The Nigerian pastor was recently seen in a clip from Boko Haram that showed him in captivity and pleading for help. The CAN president addressed and urged the federal government and security operatives to “fast-track efforts aimed at rescuing the abducted CAN chairman”. He also added that CAN was not an enemy of the government, and having nothing against President Buhari, CAN is merely calling on the government’s responsibility to protect its citizens.

This abduction comes after Boko Haram executed 11 in Nigeria on Christmas Day. The same group of individuals were seen in a video released on December 17, where they also pleaded for help and asked CAN to intercede for them. Similar efforts were made by CAN, and without the government’s response, the 11 people perished. These new efforts for Lawan Andimi must be performed quickly and efficiently to avoid the same mistake.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for Lawan Andimi to be released quickly and safely. Pray for his protection while being held by Boko Haram. Pray for him to shine the light of Christ among his captors.
