21Wilberforce is looking for college students with a passion for human rights, justice and freedom of conscience.

Former Congressman Frank Wolf leads 21Wilberforce Emerging Leaders on a private tour of the U.S. Capitol

Dear friend of 21Wilberforce,

I am excited to share that 21Wilberforce is accepting applications from college-aged students to participate in our 2020 Emerging Leader Cohort.

From the crackdown on many religious groups in China to attacks by Boko Haram in Nigeria, justice and religious freedom are under attack around the globe. Have you ever wondered what you can do to make a difference? Are you a college student who is passionate about policy, human rights, justice, and freedom of conscience? Then join 21Wilberforce’s 5th annual Emerging Leaders Conference for a transformative leadership experience through in-depth engagement with key international human rights leaders and opportunities to actively make a difference for religious freedom.

This year 21Wilberforce is launching the cohort program where a tight-knit group of college students will participate in online lectures and discussions throughout the summer with important advocates ranging from U.S. government officials to legislative staff to non-profit leaders. This leader engagement series will provide students with critical insight and connections to understand the history and context of religious freedom around the world.

The capstone of the cohort experience will be a week of advocacy, learning, and adventures in Washington D.C. The experiences of the week include:

  • Hearing the personal stories of religious believers who have faced persecution
  • Training led by expert communications and advocacy staff
  • Co-leading advocacy meetings with congressional staff on Capitol Hill
  • Networking with policy professionals and build career development skills
  • Touring D.C., including a night journey to the monuments and an exclusive tour of the Capitol

I asked Trent Martin, our Global Leaders Fellow, and a former 21Wilberforce Emerging Leader, to share his experience with our Emerging Leaders program.

“As an idealistic and enthusiastic college student, I developed a deep desire to advocate for justice for oppressed people around the world, but I did not know what I could do to practicall y help. 21Wilberforce’s Emerging Leaders program was exactly what I needed to bridge the gap between my desire to make a difference and the connections and skills I needed to put that passion into action. Now I utilize what I learned as an Emerging Leader in my position as a 21Wilberforce’s Global Leaders Fellow.”

Do not miss this transformative opportunity to advance your knowledge and international religious freedom. Visit our 2020 Emerging Leader Cohort webpage to learn more and apply by June 15th.

Sincerely,

Randel Everett
Founder and President
