Christmas Eve terror attack in Pakistan foiled by police

Date:  January 8, 2019

Police in Pakistan foiled an attempted terrorist attack on Christmas celebrations in Karachi after a shootout on 24 December 2018.

Arms and ammunition were seized from five suspected terrorists taken into custody in Mobina Town after the police intervention prevented their bid to violently disrupt Christmas celebrations.

Hours later General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff, joined the Christian community in Rawalpindi, Punjab at a Christmas Day service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

General Bajwa saluted the Christian community's contribution to Pakistan

An army spokesman said the General acknowledged the community’s contribution towards the creation of Pakistan, in the fields of education, health and public welfare. “He especially acknowledged their contributions as part of Pakistan’s armed forces,” added the spokesman.

Please join us in prayer:  Thanks be to God that a terror attack on Christmas celebrations in Karachi, Pakistan was averted by the police. Ask that the would-be perpetrators will be softened in their attitudes to Christians and repent of their efforts to kill and destroy. Pray that Christians in Pakistan will be fortified in their hearts in knowing that the Lord who created and chose them will give them courage as they continue to worship Him (Isaiah 44:2).
