Date:  May 27, 2019

India (International Christian Concern) – The homes of three Christian families in central India were ransacked by a mob on May 23 after they refused to recant their faith. The incident took place in Bodiguda village, located in the Sukma District of Chhattisgarh.

According to local sources, a village meeting was convened on the morning of May 23 where the three Christian families of the village were told to recant their Christian faith. When the Christians refused, a mob of reportedly 300 villagers, led by Buddi Kanna, the leader of Bodiguda, ransacked the homes of the three Christian families.

In addition to destroying all they found within the homes, the mob reportedly demolished the roofs of the three Christian homes. After the attack on the homes, the Christian families, headed by Sariyam Irma, Urma Deta, and Padam Supa, were told to leave the village or face even more severe consequences.

The incident has been reported to the local police station, however, Christians claim that the police have refused to file an official complaint regarding the incident. According to these local sources, Christian leaders in Sukma District are helping the displaced Christians file a case in the district court.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for the restoration of these three homes. Pray for these Christian families to remain strong in their faith. Pray for members of this mob to come to know Christ.
