Join us on 14 May 2021 for a prayer event unlike any other, as we partner with churches around the world to create a global wave of prayer.

It’s our biggest ever prayer event, marking the 18th birthday of Leah Sharibu, the Nigerian schoolgirl who refused to renounce her faith in exchange for her freedom. We are praying for Leah and all those like her around the world suffering for their faith.

Ask your church or small group to commit to pray for one hour on 14 May
Imagine a prayer baton being passed from person to person, church to church, country to country, as people around the world cry out for breakthrough, justice and freedom. Our aim is for at least 2,400 people to sign up to pray – 100 for every hour.

Join our online events. During the 24-hour period our teams in the UK, Nigeria, South East Asia, the US and Mexico will each host a one-hour online meeting. We’ll have stories, guest speakers and more to inform and fuel our prayers. We will also have the privilege of hearing from Leah’s family.

FAQsWill there be an online meeting throughout the 24 hours?
No. There are five one-hour online events during the 24 hours. We’re asking people to pray with their churches, small groups, or individually for an hour to make sure that all 24 hours are covered.

Who is Leah Sharibu?
14 May is the 18th birthday of Leah Sharibu, the abducted Nigerian schoolgirl who in 2018 refused to renounce her faith in exchange for her freedom, and is still being held by her terrorist captors. Leah’s faith inspires us to trust in God and persevere as she does.

What is the focus for prayer?
We’re praying for the release of Leah Sharibu, and for all those suffering for their faith around the world. We’ll be highlighting several other cases and some of the hosts of the events will focus on cases in their region. For example, the  Latin America team will focus on Nigeria and also on countries in the Latin America region. A downloadable prayer resource will be emailed before 30 April to those who sign up.
