Artsakh (International Christian Concern) – Today, ten human rights organizations signed and issued a statement warning against genocide towards the Armenian Christians by the hands of Azerbaijan. This statement is meant to bring to light the detrimental damage the blockade in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) is continuing to cause to the population there. More information can be found on ICC’s website linked here.

Local authorities are warning that by blocking the only road connecting Artsakh to the outside world, a humanitarian disaster will occur. This statement concludes with a call to action “We call on all contracting parties to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, particularly the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Russian Federation, to fulfill their obligations, through the UN Security Council, to prevent another chapter of the Armenian Genocide. We also call on the UN Security Council to act to ensure unrestricted humanitarian access for all international organizations to Nagorno Karabakh, in accordance with the Fourth Geneva Convention.”

ICC stands strongly by this statement, which can be read here.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for this statement to draw attention to the situation in Artsakh. Pray for humanitarian aid to flow into the region. Pray for protection for Armenian Christians around the world.
