Human Rights Defenders Sentenced
CCP officials announced a 14-year jail sentence for Chinese human rights defender Dr. Xu Zhiyong, and a 12-year sentence for Ding Jiaxi. Both were tried in June 2022 and have already spent time in jail for their efforts to defend human rights. Learn how you can encourage Dr. Xu and Ding by writing an edifying letter to them in jail.

Pray for Dr. Xu, Ding, their families, and their CCP persecutors.

Christian Lawyer Sentenced By Officials
Sadly, ChinaAid's media team reported on news regarding Christian human rights lawyer Qin Yongpei. Qin was sentenced to four years in jail for "subversion of state power" after being detained for more than three years beyond the legal time limit. Read what Qin's wife Deng Xiaoyun wrote after news about her husband's verdict emerged.

Pray for Qin, Deng, their family, and their CCP persecutors.

CCP Unilaterally Appoints Bishop
News emerged that officials unilaterally appointed Bishop Joseph Shen Bin to a new appointment in Shanghai, violating terms between the Chinese government and the Vatican by appointing a bishop without permission. Under the agreement, bishops must be selected by the Chinese Catholic community and approved by the Pope. Read how Bishop Joseph pledged to adhere to the 'Sinicization' of Catholicism in China.

Pray for all Chinese Catholics and church officials in the country.
