A church minister in southern Nigeria abducted by armed militants has been released after a month in captivity.

Christian Ike was abducted on Sunday, June 16, after a church service in Ajalli, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The release of Christian – along with another abducted believer, Mazi Ogbonnaya Aneke – was confirmed in a statement issued by church spokesman Lawrence Nwankwo on July 13.

In thanking believers for their support in prayer, Nwankwo asked for continued prayer for healing of the two released captives.

“May we also pray for the many others still in captivity and for greater security of life in our part of the world,” he added.

Christian’s release follows that of Mikah Suleiman, another abducted church leader. Meanwhile, Pastor Paul Musa and his wife Ruth remain in captivity following their abduction by Islamist terrorists Boko Haram in Borno State in March 2023.

HOW TO PRAY:  Give thanks for answered prayer with the release of Christian and Mazi. Pray that they will recover fully from their ordeal, spiritually and physically. Continue to pray for the release of Paul Musa and Ruth.
