Ten Church Members Falsely Accused of "Fraud" and Sentenced to Harsh Prison Terms
Ten members of the Golden Lampstand Church in Linfen City, Shanxi Province, were each sentenced to multiple years in prison on charges of “fraud.” These charges were all based on a forced characterization of voluntary offerings given during a church service as "illegal fundraising".

Obstruction of Justice in the Xi’an Church of Abundance Case Trial
During the trial of Pastor Lian Changnian, Pastor Lian Xuliang, and coworker Preacher Fu Juan of the Church of Abundance in Xi’an, the court forbade the “victims” from appearing in court, and lawyers were faced with forced dismissals.
Recently, Elder Zhang Chunlei of Guiyang Ren’ai Reformed Church sent a letter from prison. In the letter he expresses longing and concern for his loved ones, reflects intensely on the “injustice” he has endured, and shares profound insights on faith, the church, and serving the nation.
Calls for Prayer and Support for Eight Christians in Changzhou Taken by Police
Pastor Jin Mingri and the pastoral team of Beijing Zion Church issued a public prayer letter revealing that on the morning of June 22, eight Christians attending a gathering in Changzhou, Jiangsu, were suddenly taken away by the police for investigation.
The Linfen Covenant House Church, after the arrest and harsh sentencing of three of their leaders, remains steadfast in prayer and hope and rejoices in suffering.
"Our church remains a house church, adhering to Christ as the sole head of the church and the principle of separation of church and state. We recognize that Li Jie, Han Xiaodong, and Wang Qiang are suffering for righteousness sake and are willing to take up the cross with the Lord. We receive the result of the judgment from the Lord with a heart of gratitude and obedience." — Linfen Covenant House Church
How You Can Stand with the Persecuted
Pray with and for the churches under persecution
Pray for the ten sentenced members of Golden Lampstand Church, including Brother Li Shuangping, Yang Rongli, and Pastor Wang Xiaoguang. May God grant them to endure their sentencing with grace and strength, and may He give them justice in the face of false charges.
Pray for the eight Christians who were arrested at a gathering in Changzhou, Jiangsu May they find comfort in God's presence and protection. We also pray that the one remaining in detention, Zhu Hua, would be released soon.
Pray for the health of Pastor Lian Changnian As the trial for the Church of Abundance in Xi’an goes on, Pastor Lian Changnian's health has rapidly deteriorated. Pray for God's healing and strength to be with him.

We were pleased to partner with Shining Light Media LLC, ChinaAid in hosting the "Ten Years After the 709 Crackdown: Symposium on the Rule of Law and Religious Freedom under Xi Jinping" that commemorated the ten year anniversary of the 709 Crackdown, a widespread and ongoing campaign by the Chinese Communist Party to silence human rights lawyers and activists. The event, held at Capitol Hill on Tuesday, July 8, was a success. It featured two expert panels reflecting on the impact of thecrackdown, the erosion of rule of law and religious freedom in China, and the implications for U.S. policy and global human rights.
