Join us as we walk with the persecuted faithful. This week’s shocking developments: Parents in China pre-record heartbreaking videos bracing their own children for their imminent arrest. A brother's chilling eyewitness testimony reveals the terror of over 1,000 police storming Wenzhou Christians in a brutal raid—believers beaten, one requiring 4 stitches above the eye amid ongoing surveillance, summons, and violence.

In Washington D.C., Bob Fu of ChinaAid delivers a strong condemnation exposing the CCP's chilling transnational repression. And the question burning globally: Will Pope Leo XIV finally speak out for imprisoned Catholic Jimmy Lai and the countless persecuted Christians crushed under the CCP's iron fist?

ChinaAid stands with the persecuted, exposing injustices and safeguarding the vulnerable. Your partnership makes this vital work possible. Thank you for joining us in this urgent hour.

Must Watch: Mom & Dad Pre-Record Video Preparing Their Own Children for Their Imminent Arrest

“Carson, little brother, if one day you do not see Mom and Dad anymore, remember the hymn we sang together today.”

Elder Li Yingqiang and his wife, Zhang Xinyue, of Chengdu Early Rain Covenant Church, demonstrating profound wisdom, foresight, and immeasurable compassion for their children, pre-recorded a warm, heartfelt video preparing their children for the imminent persecution they would soon face. In the video, their smiles are so sweet and gentle. You see the unconditional love in their eyes as they greet their children. As they begin to sing, you see their faith transcend the here and now, finding anchor and strength in something greater, in God.

On January 6, Chengdu police launched a new round of large-scale arrests targeting Early Rain Covenant Church. Both mother and father were arrested. The two children huddled together the entire night at the police station; now in care of their grandmother. These are the evils of the Chinese Communist Party. The same church faced mass arrests in 2018; more than 500 members’ homes were raided and detained.

Story #2: Exclusive: Brother W's Chilling Eyewitness Account of 1,000-Police Assault

In an exclusive interview, Brother W recounts the harrowing 3 a.m. raid on Yayang Church in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, on December 15, 2025, where over 1,000 police stormed in to enforce national flag installation. Drones buzzed overhead, signals jammed, phones seized, and black hoods forced over the heads of more than 100 Christians amid violent break-ins.

Brother W details counterterrorism-style tactics and highlights the demolition of the bell tower and cross. Twenty remain detained, including elderly Cai Wangling. This assault underscores the CCP's escalating suppression of faith, yet believers' resolve inspires hope for justice.

Story #3: Developing Story: Church Members Facing Surveillance, Summons, Violent Assaults Requiring 4 Stitches Above Eye!

Church members enduring surveillance and forced restrictions from leaving their homes demanded to “verify their whereabouts daily” going forward. Church member Chen Yunfei was physically assaulted near his home on January 8. Chen had been warned not to speak out on X (Twitter), and was subsequently beaten. He required four stitches above his eyebrow and suffered bleeding and swelling around the eye. Chen did not resist during the attack.

The Early Rain Covenant Church stated that some members are still being taken away, are out of contact, or are under various forms of surveillance. The affected families, especially spouses and minor children, are enduring ongoing psychological and practical pressures. Share now to stand with Early Rain Covenant Church and hold China accountable. Learn More

Story 4: Will Pope Leo XIV Finally Speak Out?

Christians in China are facing an unprecedented escalation of persecution the likes of which have not been seen in at least four decades. Early Rain Covenant Church, Yayang Church, and Zion Church have endured targeted, coordinated, severe persecution of their leaders and members.

Last week, Pope Leo XIII delivered a “State of the World” address. The theme of his speech was human dignity, human rights, and specifically freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and freedom of religion. The pope spoke about several of the world’s other human rights crises, including Ukraine, the Holy Land, Venezuela, Sudan, and Myanmar, and reference was made to the persecution of Christians around the world, but no specific mention was made of the plight of the Church in China or the fate of Jimmy Lai.

Given Beijing’s repeated betrayals of its promises to Catholics under the Sino-Vatican agreement first signed in 2018 and renewed for two-year periods in 2020 and 2022 and then for a four-year period in 2024, and given the increasing persecution of Christians in China, is it not time for the pope to speak out publicly about one of the most egregious cases of religious persecution in the world today? Story #5: We Must Stop China’s Transnational Repression

On January 15, ChinaAid held a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., issuing a statement on the case of 19 Kazakh human rights defenders who have been arrested by the authorities of Kazakhstan and may face severe sentences. ChinaAid emphasizes that these Kazakh individuals are not criminals, but tellers of the truth. This case is a typical example of transnational repression. Prosecuting these 19 human rights defenders would set a dangerous precedent by criminalizing peaceful human rights advocacy.

Dr. Bob Fu, ChinaAid’s founder and president, states that “This case is not about Kazakhstan’s internal security. It is about China’s transnational repression, the export of censorship, coercion, and punishment beyond China’s borders.” ChinaAid urges the government of Kazakhstan to immediately drop all charges against the 19 individuals and fulfill its international human rights obligations. It also called on the international community and the United Nations to take decisive action to stop authoritarian regimes from exporting censorship and retaliation beyond their borders.
