Dr. Bob Fu’s Message to Jimmy Lai, President Trump, and World Leaders

ChinaAid strongly condemns the Chinese Communist Party and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government for sentencing Catholic prisoner of conscience and media freedom advocate Jimmy Lai to 20 years in prison, along with eight other journalists and defenders of free expression, under the so-called National Security Law.

These individuals were punished solely for exercising freedom of expression and upholding journalistic integrity. Their convictions represent a deliberate and systematic assault on press freedom, religious freedom, and the rule of law.

ChinaAid calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all those imprisoned and urges President Donald Trump and leaders of the free world to impose strong, coordinated, and effective pressure on the Chinese Communist Party to secure their freedom. Watch Dr. Bob Fu’s Message to Jimmy Lai, President Trump, and World Leaders Now

According to verified reports, Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Jimmy Lai's Catholic faith remains strong amid his imprisonment, where he reads the Bible or Gospel each morning, prays daily and creates religious artwork such as drawings of the Crucifixion as a form of meditation and spiritual solace.

Story #2: Bob Fu Exposes China's Brutal Crackdown on Christians at Global Summit

At the 2026 International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C., ChinaAid President Dr. Bob Fu spotlighted the harrowing plight of Zion Church Pastor Ezra Jin and 17 fellow leaders, detained since October 10, 2025, in China's largest church crackdown in decades. Arrested on charges of illegally spreading religious content online, they face up to three years in prison amid escalating CCP repression, including forced sinicization and family separations.

Despite raids and bans, these believers exemplify unyielding resilience, continuing ministry that reaches thousands. Fu urged global unity to combat this "full-scale war on faith," offering hope through international advocacy and prayer. Stand with China's persecuted Christians—pray for Pastor Jin's release, contact your officials to demand action, and donate to support advocacy today! Watch Bob Fu’s Remarks Here

Story #3: Who is Dr. Wang Bingzhang?

Dr. Wang Bingzhang, a pioneering Christian pro-democracy activist and U.S. permanent resident, endures his 24th year in solitary confinement in Guangdong Province, sentenced to life in 2003 on fabricated espionage and terrorism charges. Abducted from Vietnam in 2002, his detention—deemed arbitrary by the UN—exemplifies CCP suppression of religious and political dissent.

Recent family visits reveal deteriorating health, including strokes and dental loss, amid denied medical care. Advocacy from ChinaAid's Dr. Bob Fu and international bodies like USCIRF highlights this as emblematic of broader Christian persecution. Stand with Dr. Wang Bingzhang—send letters of encouragement and calls for freedom to his prison address. Your words will amplify global pressure on China to end this injustice and honor his resilient faith. Write today:

Story 4: Bob Fu Details Standing in Tiananmen Square in 1989 with Dr. Jim Garlow from Well Versed

“China has officially entered into a digital tyranny country.

It is estimated there are 3.7 billion facial recognition cameras installed in every corner of China, from the streets to your bedroom. Everywhere, every Chinese person is being followed by at least two face recognition cameras. So there is no way, of course, for the house church to hide.

And that's the beauty of the work of the Lord. Really, even despite being surveilled and being harassed, being persecuted, at this moment Chinese Christians are experiencing the worst persecution we have seen in over 40 years. And we're talking about nationwide. And yet the Lord has prepared the Chinese house church to be so resilient that the church has never stopped growing.

Many people said from less than 1 million Christians when the Communist Party took over in 1949 to now, we're talking about between 100 to 130 million, the 100-fold growth under the nonstop communist persecution. And actually, history has shown in the past 80 years under communism in China, the more persecution there is, the more church growth there will be.” Watch Now

Episode 2: Weaponized Law | When Worship is Non-Compliance
(ChinaAid Docu-series)

In the evolving framework of China's religious governance, laws that once outlined boundaries have become instruments of constraint. Through layered regulations, ordinary acts of faith—such as home gatherings or scripture sharing—are recast as non-compliant or illegal. This redefinition transforms law from a protector of freedom into a tool that erodes religious independence.

This legal reshaping aligns with the evolution of "Sinicization of religion." What began as cultural adaptation has pivoted toward "Party-ization.” Religious doctrines, education, sites, and clergy must mirror the ruling party's ideology. How does such ideological integration alter the core of spiritual practice?

These instances reveal systemic impacts: house churches driven underground, communities isolated from global ties under anti-espionage pretexts, and worship fragmented. This comprehensive system of control uses the appearance of legal rules to tame and fold religion into the party-state framework. What does it mean when law reframes devotion as defiance?
