Join Us as We Walk with the Persecuted Faithful
This week: Pastor John Cao was discharged from a Hunan hospital battling late-stage cancer. Pastor Sun Cong has now endured over 200 days in Beihai Detention Center, and in Chengdu, police raided an Early Rain Church small-group worship service. This is the reality believers are facing right now in China.
Together we stand with the persecuted, exposing injustices and safeguarding the vulnerable. Your partnership makes this vital work possible. Thank you for joining us in this urgent mission.
Pastor John Cao Seeks Healing After Cancer Discharge Pastor John Cao Sanqiang was discharged from a Hunan hospital on the evening of April 30 after weeks of excruciating pain caused by late-stage prostate cancer, a spinal tumor, and cancer that has spread to his bone marrow—conditions widely attributed to the harsh conditions of his seven-year imprisonment.
Despite his frailty, Pastor Cao has returned home in Changsha, placing his hope solely in the Lord Jesus for healing while a doctor monitors him for ten days before deciding on surgery. Pray for Pastor Cao’s healing and full freedom. Share his story, contact your representatives, and demand the U.S. prioritize his case in U.S.-China talks.
Beijing Zion Pastors Face Life-Threatening Conditions Eighteen pastors and coworkers from Beijing Zion Church have now endured 205 days in Beihai City’s No. 1 and No. 2 Detention Centers, Guangxi, on charges of “illegally using an information network.” On April 21, they received formal notices extending custody until June 18, citing the possibility of ten-year or longer sentences.
Detainees suffer serious, life-threatening health conditions—including severe malnutrition—exacerbated by sweltering heat and deplorable living conditions, yet receive no effective medical care.
Communication rights are crushed: letters from detainees never reach families, and family letters and books never reach them. Stand with the 18 imprisoned Zion Church pastors—pray for their immediate release and share their story.
Police Raid Church: Worshippers Dispersed in Chengdu On April 26, 2026, police in Chengdu disrupted a Sunday worship service of the Jinsha Yulin small group of Early Rain Covenant Reformed Church shortly after it began at 9:00 a.m. Officers conducted identity checks, registered participants’ information, and warned against renting venues for gatherings.
Due to the intervention, the day’s worship service was forced to a halt and could not proceed as planned. The incident reflects the church’s ongoing persecution since the 2018 mass arrests. Continue Reading...
