As the conflict between the United States and Iran escalates, Iranian citizens—including Christians—are once again dealing with the consequences.
Iranians are facing shortages of food, fuel and medicine, while rising oil prices and economic instability are driving up the cost of living, which is already very high. Many families live in fear of further attacks; jobs have been lost and thousands of people have been displaced from their homes.
But God is still at work!
Naomi*, an active Christian from southern Iran, recently discovered that the man who had arrested and brutally interrogated her for her faith had been killed in the war.
And her actions show that faith is alive and well—even in the midst of difficulty. She says, “I told my husband, ‘I want to visit my interrogator's grave.’ By God's grace, I was able to forgive the man who persecuted me. I forgave him.”
We need to stand with our sister Naomi and the rest of our Iranian family enduring so much. Please pray—here are 25 ways you can do so right now:
Many Iranian Christians worship Jesus in underground churches, forced to meet in secret—and under pressure. The war has not changed this reality. In fact, it’s made it even more challenging for Christians to live out their daily lives as they navigate the impact of the conflict.
But they don’t need to live with that weight all alone! When we pray with our persecuted family, we live out Paul’s command in Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Through our prayers and support, we show them they are known to us, even if they must worship God in the shadows.
Thank you for standing with God’s people as they follow Jesus underground and under pressure!
