Pakistan (MNN) — The Pakistani Gospel worker you’ve been praying for over the past few weeks is alive.

FMI’s Nehemiah says, “Labib is reunited with his family, and he is at a safe place right now.”

Brother Labib is an audio technician who produces Christian material in a secret recording studio. Military intelligence raided Labib’s hideout at the end of August.

“Security forces arrived at the recording studio, claiming they had a package to deliver. Labib immediately became suspicious because the [studio’s] location was hidden,” Nehemiah says.

“There was no reason for a person to come to that address.”

Before he fled, Labib warned his family and grabbed the hard drive containing his recordings.

“Security forces eventually forced their way into the facility. Thankfully, before they entered, Labib was able to escape through a hidden exit,” Nehemiah says.

“His family had to leave their home, and they were separated for approximately one week, while everyone tried to remain safe.”

Christian audio reaches people beyond church walls

Simply listening to Christian media is not illegal in Muslim-majority Pakistan. However, Christian media producers often face government aggression.

“His (Labib’s) recording ministry is very important because Christian audio resources can reach people who cannot safely obtain Christian literature or attend a church openly,” Nehemiah says.

“Through these recordings, people can hear Scripture, Christian teaching, and the message of Jesus in languages they understand.”

Most importantly, pray. “Labib is asking us to pray for his courage, wisdom, and continued safety. He deeply desires to resume the ministry God has entrusted to him,” Nehemiah says.

“Please pray for wisdom about when and how we can safely resume his ministry,” he adds.

“And, we just want to remind our listeners that even when circumstances are extremely difficult, God is still at work. We are grateful for His protection over Labib and his family, and we continue to trust Him for what comes next.”
