Prayer Alert: Trial for Imprisoned Korean Missionary Continues Today

Korean missionary Park Tae-Yeon was cross-examined in court by prosecutors Thursday, with about 70 percent of prosector’s questions related to the missionary’s religious activities and beliefs.

The cross-examination of Missionary Park will resume today, with a verdict in the case now not expected until October 8.

The prosecutor and judge were aggressively questioning the defendants about various religious groups, including Child Evangelism Fellowship, the Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals), and a few others—what they do, how they differ, what are their core beliefs.

They asked what specifically the groups pray about, what they preach, what rules they instill, and what the spreading of evangelical Christian doctrine entails. They asked what the ‘Great Commission’ is.

There is only one mediator between God and humanity: the man Christ Jesus.

This is why Jesus does not tell us to go to the pastor or the elder when somebody sins. The goal is not to bring the sinning person to pastors or elders, but to bring that person to Jesus.

In the New Testament, there is no hierarchy among believers. There are only brothers and sisters.

Pastor and Dr. Foley explain

that we often start with our own modern understanding of “church” when we read Jesus’ references to the “church” in the gospels, we think that in Matthew 18:17, Jesus saying “tell it to the church” means “go and tell the pastor”.
