HEBREWS 10:38
“BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE WILL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.”
Believers are encouraged to persevere despite the temptations and trials we inevitably face. Because in CHRIST we were justified by faith, we are to keep on walking by faith. We are to persevere and not to shrink back in fear. This is a call to persevere under trial and press on from the earliest stages of our faith to a deeper spiritual knowledge and richer understanding of the high calling of GOD. We are not to oscillate between spiritual progress and spiritual decline. We are to live a consistent life of faith; we are to run the race of faith and not be weary; we are to walk by faith and not to faint. We are to keep on advancing through the power of the indwelling HOLY SPIRIT and not rely on our own flesh and carnal resources. And because of our position in CHRIST, we have been given all we need for life and godliness. At salvation we were declared righteous by GOD and covered in JESUS’ righteousness, and in HIM we have all we need to keep on living a victorious life that honors and pleases the LORD - made possible only by faith—an ongoing, continuing, growing and progressive faith. Without saving faith we cannot please GOD, because we are dead in sin and sin separates from Him. Similarly, He takes no pleasure in His born-again children when we do not live a life by faith - because He has clothed us in the righteousness of CHRIST, sent the HOLY SPIRIT to live in us, and given us the Word of GOD. We have no excuse for drawing back into unbelief or fearfulness. We are destined to be above, and not below; the head, not the tail; the first, and not the last!! Glory to GOD!!!
Prayer…
May GOD Himself, sanctify us through and through. May our whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. With this in mind, we constantly pray that our GOD may count us worthy of His calling, and that by His SPIRIT empower us to fulfill every good purpose of His will, and may every act of ours be prompted by our steadfast faith. Help us LORD, to daily live by faith and not shrink back as we honor and please You for Your glory. In JESUS marvelous Name. Amen.
