3-Blessed be the GOD and FATHER our Lord JESUS CHRIST, the FATHER of compassion and GOD of all comfort, 4-who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by GOD. 5-For as we share abundantly in CHRIST’s sufferings, so through CHRIST we share abundantly in comfort too.”
JESUS CHRIST, the holy Son of GOD understands our pain and heartache. Praise GOD that as we face pain and suffering. and if JESUS is our Savior, then we also have a spiritual family of believers, our local church that is there to give comfort to us. More than that, we have a loving ABBA FATHER who is full of compassion and comfort for us. These are great truths to cling to in times of suffering and pain. GOD comforts us!
One of the most effective ways of demonstrating the love of CHRIST is being present with someone in their weakness and affection, listening to them, and allowing them to be sure they are understood. The Lord JESUS is counting on us to be His listening ears, His loving heart, and His comforting presence to those in pain and suffering. Our own experiences of trials and afflictions can now be used by GOD to comfort others in their own afflictions. The Apostle Paul put it this way: "Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of CHRIST." (Galatians 6:2).
Prayer:
Dear FATHER, by the light and truth of JESUS, I lift my loved ones to you…By the hope of my Redeemer, I pray for Your healing power to break through. By the peace and the grace of the Author of Life, I place them safely in Your care. By the death and resurrection of the King of Kings, May Your restoration now flow through my prayers. By the greatest gift of love ever known, hear my prayer and care for them as you would do. By the hope and faith I have in Your great and precious promises, I place my confidence and trust in You. In CHRIST JESUS’ Name. Amen.
