Proverbs 3:21
“My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion”
Simply put, don't lose sight of wisdom! Don't assume that it will always be there for you if you need it. Don't assume that it will always be at the door when knock or when you call. The Bible personifies wisdom in Proverbs so that we might understand the nature of virtue. The LORD is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer Him sacrifices. Clean living before GOD and justice with our neighbors mean far more to GOD than religious performance. Doing what is righteous and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. Do you desire to please the LORD at all times? Then don’t lose sight of godly wisdom! Don’t lose sight of understanding! Don’t lose sight of knowledge! Don’t lose sight of discretion! Yesterday’s wisdom is not enough for tomorrow’s challenges. No one knows everything and everyone needs something. Keep learning knowledge. Keep pursuing understanding. Keep seeking wisdom from the LORD. If you ever think that “you’ve arrived,” then be sure that virtue has departed from you. These counsel came from King Solomon who asked GOD for wisdom in ruling the nation of Israel. He was granted his request which made him known as a man whom GOD has blessed with exceptional wisdom. We too can have godly wisdom in and through faith in the Lord CHRIST JESUS. In Luke 11:49, JESUS called Himself “The wisdom of GOD.” Paul wrote, “CHRIST the power of GOD and the wisdom of GOD…CHRIST JESUS, who became to us wisdom from GOD…in (CHRIST) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (1 Corinthians 1:24, 30 and Colossians 2:3).
Prayer:
Dear GOD, thank You that in Your Word there’s a verse in James 1:5 instructing and reminding us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask GOD, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” FATHER, please give us wisdom to help us navigate through the daily issues we face with prudent, sound judgment from Your SPIRIT. I ask that You to give us fresh wisdom everyday and in every way, that we might be careful and grateful to honor, please, and glorify You with every choice that we make.
In JESUS’ holy name. Amen.
Seeking His Wisdom,
