Matthew 5:7
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy"

This Bible passage from the BEATITUDES speaks to the importance of showing compassion and kindness to others. The verse promises that those who extend mercy to others will receive mercy in return, both from GOD and from others. It highlights the reciprocal nature of mercy and compassion and the positive impact of extending grace to others. This is part of the Beatitudes, a series of blessings given by JESUS in the Sermon on the Mount. In this context, mercy is not just about avoiding punishment or suffering, but about showing kindness, forgiveness, and understanding towards those in need. If we show mercy to others, we will also be shown mercy in return. This doesn't necessarily mean we will escape punishment, but rather that we will receive grace, forgiveness, and compassion from GOD and from those in need. As individuals, we are to actively seek out opportunities to show mercy to others. This can be through acts of human kindness, forgiveness, and compassion, or even just offering a listening ear to those who are suffering. The one thing I love about this verse is that it also highlights the fact that GOD is a GOD of mercy. He extends forgiveness and grace to those who are in need, even if they have not been merciful themselves. The entire Beatitudes, including this verse, are meant to be a guide for living a life that reflects JESUS’ character. By being merciful, we are not only showing kindness to others, but also living out the life and teachings of CHRIST JESUS.

Prayer:
Dear FATHER GOD, I praise and thank You for Your loving-kindness and great mercy which is new every morning and remains steadfast and sure throughout the day - to strengthen and hold. Thank You for the glory of the cross..
And for us facing family crisis, help us as we talk to family,…please help us to be gentle with our words and how we react to them. Fill us with the gentleness of Your HOLY SPIRIT. Show us the best way to respond at the moment when things get heated. Help us to know what words and actions will best extinguish the flames of friction in our family.
May our words, actions, and reactions reflect the SPIRIT of CHRIST to those around me. In JESUS’ Merciful Name. Amen. 🙏🏼✝️❤️
