Psalm 119:89–96
89 “Forever, O LORD, Your Word is firmly fixed in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You have established the earth, and it stands fast. 91 By Your appointment they stand this day for all things are Your servants. 92-93 “If Your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life.”
Recalling GOD’s faithfulness and control over everything that touches us empowers us to walk with GOD even when we feel like giving up. After all, our feelings & circumstances have not changed GOD. He is perfectly capable of sustaining us if we will only let Him. We simply need to choose to delight in and diligently consider GOD’s precepts (His principles and character) despite how we feel. Choosing to delight in GOD might not be easy. It might even involve hard work. But only GOD can give life, revive, and save our soul from spiritual lethargy. Next time you and I feel spiritually drained or inadequate, remember that we have a choice. We can wrap ourselves up in excuses and self-pity, or we can choose to draw our strength from an almighty and unchanging GOD.
Prayer:
Eternal FATHER, Your Word is settled and firm, a foundation that endures forever. Your faithfulness is evident throughout all generations, and Your creation stands as a witness to Your power and provision. I thank You that Your laws endure to this day, and all things serve You. If it were not for Your Word being my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I commit to never forget You and Your precepts, for by them You have given me life. Help me to always find joy and sustenance in Your Word, and to live in accordance with Your will and Your purposes, in the Majestic Name of JESUS, I pray, Amen.
