John 13:34-35
34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Our Bible lesson for today is the importance of loving one another, as exemplified by JESUS CHRIST. This can be found in John 13:34-35, where JESUS commands His disciples to love one another as He has loved them, stating that this love will be the defining characteristic of His followers. Alternatively, we could focus on the concept of forgiveness, as highlighted in Isaiah 1:18, where GOD promises to cleanse even the most sinful individuals.
Prayer:
LORD GOD, even as You set an example for Your first disciples, please help us learn from Your example and their’s that we might do as You intend all who claim to be believers in You would do. Help us humbly love and serve others as You served Your disciples when You humbly washed their feet.
Please keep on changing and transforming my life that I may constantly and increasingly reflect the life of CHRIST, for Your praise, honor, and glory.
In the loving Name of JESUS.
Amen.
