"Obedience is better than sacrifice" means that GOD values heeding His commands and following His instructions more than performing religious duties or making offerings. The prophet Samuel tells King Saul that God finds more delight in obedience than in burnt offerings and sacrifices. Obedience reflects a heart that trusts GOD and loves Him. Choosing to make a sacrifice instead of following direct instructions is a form of self-will, where one believes their own solution is better than GOD’s. True obedience involves offering one's own will to GOD and committing to His word, even when it is difficult.

Gracious FATHER, help us to give to You in worship what You have asked; the obedience of our hearts. Please help us to hear Your Word, and to obey Your Word; hear Your voice, and obey Your voice. LORD, I repent for any rebellion in my heart. I cast out every spirit of disobedience, defiance, and stubbornness. My desire is to daily bring honor, praise and glory to You, in JESUS’ Powerful Name.
