COLOSSIANS 4:2
“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”
The verse is a call to action for every believer. Paul urges us to have an unwavering commitment to prayer. This means more than just a sporadic prayer list; it's a lifestyle of constant communication with GOD, being aware of His presence and provision. It also suggests a watchful, aware approach to prayer, while an "attitude of thanksgiving" calls for gratitude for GOD’s unchanging faithfulness. This focused and thankful prayer life is central to our Christian faith and enables us to receive strength for GOD’s praise , honor, and glory.
Prayer:
Glorious Heavenly FATHER, I come before You now, inspired by Your word in Colossians. I ask for Your help to be more devoted to prayer—not just in my needs, but as a constant practice of my faith in CHRIST JESUS. Strengthen me against distractions and spiritual laziness, and help me to be watchful for the ways You are moving in my life and in the world around me. Fill my heart with a spirit of thanksgiving, so that even as I make my requests known, my first response is gratitude for all you have already done. Thank You for the privilege of speaking with You directly. May my life and my prayers be a testament to Your faithfulness. In JESUS’ gracious Name, Amen.
