1 Peter 1:15-16
“But just as HE who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; because it is written: 'Be holy, because I AM holy.'"

Holy living is a lifelong journey of purifying oneself from sin through obedience to GOD, empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT. It starts with a conscious decision to live a life that is set apart from the world, reflecting the holiness of GOD in every aspect of life, and is motivated by gratitude for JESUS' sacrifice on the cross. Below are some thoughts to ponder on….

The foundation of holy living:
A new identity: When you believe in JESUS, you are made holy and perfect in GOD’s eyes through His sacrifice (Hebrews 10:14). Holiness is not something you achieve on your own, but something you live out based on who you already are in CHRIST.

The role of the HOLY SPIRIT: GOD gives us the HOLY SPIRIT to empower you to live a holy life and to help us  understand His Word. The HOLY SPIRIT is essential for overcoming sin and walking in the new life CHRIST JESUS has given us…

Gratitude and love: A desire for holy living is a response of gratitude for what JESUS has done for us. It is also rooted in loving GOD with all our heart and loving our neighbor as one’s self, as JESUS taught. Holiness doesn't happen by accident. It requires a deliberate decision and a constant effort to put GOD’s will before our own.

Living a holy life allows us to reflect GOD’s character to the world and become a powerful instrument for His kingdom.  Holiness glorifies the LORD!

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER, You are a holy GOD and I desire to be holy too…Set apart unto You, and living my life in a manner that is worthy of You and pleasing to You. Search my heart I pray, Purify my heart, cleanse my inner thoughts and examine the very motives behind my acts and attitudes, for I desire to live in holiness of heart. If there is anything that is displeasing to You in my life, I ask that in Your grace You would root it out, so that I may live in godly holiness all the days of my life, clothed in CHRIST’s righteousness, separated unto You and walking in godly love. This I ask in JESUS’ holy Name, Amen.
