PHILIPPIANS 2:3
Do nothing out of selfinh ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
We are called to be instruments in the Master's hands, a vessel through which GOD’s boundless love can flow into a hurting world. This love is not something we can generate on our own; it's a divine, sacrificial (agape) love that is a fruit of the HOLY SPIRIT, which we must allow to work through us. The world's version of love often comes with conditions, expectations, and a "what's in it for me?" attitude. GOD’s love is the opposite: it is given without expecting anything in return and is demonstrated by practical action. Just as JESUS laid down His life for us, we are called to embody this love in our daily lives—in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
Being an instrument of love requires a willingness to be "tuned" and "used" by GOD which means letting go of our own agendas, forgiving as we have been forgiven, and serving others with humility and joy. When we open our hearts and allow GOD’s love to override human frailty and the world's fickleness, we become powerful testimonies of His grace, love, and transformative power.
Let us strive to be people whose lives are lived in the environment of GOD’s love, allowing it to impact those around us in clear and unmistakable ways.
Prayer:
Lord, Help us to love as you love. Fill us with your SPIRIT so that we can choose what is best. We are weak LORD, but we know also, that even when we are weak, You are strong within us. Thank You that it’s not all up to us. Thank You that You equip us to face each day with the power of Your love, Your forgiveness, and Your grace. We pray that our lives would be filled and overflowing with the power of Your love so we can make a difference in this world and bring honor to You. We ask for Your help in reminding us that the most important things are not what we do outwardly, it’s not based on any talent or gift, but the most significant thing we can do in this life is simply to love You and to choose to love others. In JESUS’ most tender love we pray, Amen.
