EXODUS 17:15
“And Moses built an altar and called its name, THE LORD IS MY BANNER.”

"Nissi" is a Hebrew word meaning "banner" or "standard.”  It is a component of one of the names of GOD in the Bible, JEHOVAH NISSI (or YAHWEH NISSI), which translates to "The LORD  Is My Banner.” JEHOVAH NISSI signifies GOD as our source of victory, hope, and identity in spiritual battles, a name first revealed in Exodus when He helped Israel defeat Amalek. As the redeemed children of GOD, we need to focus on trusting Him to fight our battles, taking courage from His presence, and seeing Him as our rallying standard, not fighting alone. “Nissi” is a battle standard, a rallying point for troops, representing hope and belonging. GOD as our banner means we belong to Him, and His victory is ours.—In Exodus 17, Israel won because GOD fought through them; His presence was their standard. Our trials are not ours alone; they become GOD’s battle, His business. In essence, Exodus 17:15 declares that GOD Himself is the ultimate standard under which His people find courage, guidance, and ultimate triumph. Our job is to obey, trust, and look to Him, not on our own strength. Lift up His Name (the Cross of CHRIST) as our victory flag, even when we are weak, knowing He provides the victory.

Prayer:
LORD GOD, my JEHOVAH NISSI, thank You for being my banner and my victory. I surrender this trial I’m facing to You, trusting You to fight for me. Give me courage, strength, and Your peace as I stand under Your banner. Help me to always lift high Your Name and claim the victory You've already won at Calvary’s cross, in the Mighty and victorious Name of JESUS, Amen.
