CHRIST declared, “In the world you shall have tribulation: but BE OF GOOD CHEER; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV) “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
This verse offers a perspective on suffering by contrasting temporary, earthly trials with an everlasting, superior reward. It highlights that our present, "light and momentary" hardships are actively producing an "eternal glory" that far outweighs any pain experienced in the present moment. SO, BE OF GOOD CHEER, WE ARE ON THE WINNING SIDE OF GLORY!!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER, Thank You for the promise in 2 Corinthians 4:17. When the pressures of life feel overwhelming, help me to see that my light and momentary troubles are actually preparing me for an eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all. LORD, please grant me the grace and strength to persevere, not focusing on the things that are seen—the pain, the struggle, the fear—but on the unseen, eternal things. Help me to trust that You are working all things together for good, using these trials to shape my character and draw me closer to You. Teach me to view my afflictions with an eternal perspective, knowing they are producing a glory that will last forever. In JESUS’ Glorious Name, Amen.
