Thought for this afternoon...
Isaiah 45:7
I form light and create darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the LORD, who does all these things.
When more and more we hear reports of chaos and entropy all around us, it sometimes is hard to see God's chosen role in all the painful hubbub. It sometimes seems that God is not in control.
But I am reminded of a quote by Jared Wilson, "I think of at least one idea much more distressing than the idea that the Lord reigns in moments of devastation. The idea that He doesn't."
That's a lesson in confidence and trust in the Lord--that He works through random and inconsequential events as well as through major "God" events. Nothing is outside of God's power.
