Religious freedom takes a dive across Asia

Nigeria’s Christians are being silently slaughtered

Ninety-one million Christians live in Nigeria. They make up around 46 per cent of the total population of 196 million. There are a similar number of Muslims in Nigeria – over 90 million. Christian Leaders Face New Challenges Amid India’s COVID-19 Lockdown

Christian minorities ‘back of queue’ in coronavirus aid – some rations six times smaller

Open Doors reports that in one area of Nigeria Christian families say they are receiving food rations which are six times smaller than their non-Christian neighbours. This comes as Christians across the developing world are targeted by conspiracy theorists who blame them for the virus. The charity is helping deliver food to people in Uzbekistan who have been denied aid because of their religion, and in India there are fears in churches that the promise of support will be used to bribe people to abandon their faith.......Read More

USCIRF Designates Algeria as Religious Freedom Violator for First Time Ever

International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) added Algeria to its 2020 annual report on the world’s worst religious freedom violators. “The [Algerian] government,” USCIRF reports, “systematically cracked down on the Evangelical Protestant community.” This is the first time in USCIRF’s history that Algeria has been included in the report, which comes at a time when the Algerian Church is facing a severe wave of persecution........Read More
