Iran (International Christian Concern) – Following a raid of their homes two weeks ago, at least 10 Christians have been charged with “acting against national security by promoting Zionist Christianity.” The number of those confirmed to have been arrested during those raids has risen to 17, reports Article 18.

Of those arrested, eight were released on bail, four are still detained, four have been released pending a decision in their cases, and one was released without charge. The authorities are not releasing information to family members about the fate of those who remain detained in an unknown location. As warned during the initial raids, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard also summoned several of the arrested Christians’ contacts, some of whom they had not spoken with in years.

Iran has one of the fastest growing churches in the world, and is also one of the world’s top violators of religious freedom. Iran is an officially Islamic country and the government embraces a strict form of Islam that is not replicated within broader society.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for the immediate release of those still detained. Pray for any unjust charges against these believers to be dropped. Pray equal treatment of religious minorities in Iran’s justice system.
