Since 2012, Morning Star News has been uncovering otherwise unknown cases of persecuted Christians, leading to prayer, aid and advocacy for them and their families. The trained journalists reporting on these cases include several who risk their lives to do so; one is on a fatwa list of Christians to be killed, one cannot use his real name when calling for interviews, one has an office that shares a wall with a church that was bombed.

Their stories are provided for free, though the correspondents are paid professional freelance rates. We will continue providing the news at no cost based on our philosophy of putting no obstacle in the way of bringing cases of persecuted Christians to light, but we need help. My thanks to all of you who support the ministry of Morning Star News either individually or through your organization, and if every one of the remaining subscribers donated $10 through our website (or see the address below to send checks), that would enable us to continue publishing this year in combination with other expected contributions.

Reporting on stories that mainstream media won’t, Morning Star News remains the only independent news service devoted exclusively to covering persecution of Christians worldwide. Sometimes the stories lead to mainstream coverage; as many will recall, Morning Star News was the first to report on Meriam Ibrahim, the pregnant mother in Sudan falsely sentenced to death for “apostasy,” unleashing a firestorm of protests from international media, governments and advocacy groups that resulted in her release.

Our coverage has resulted in aid to survivors of persecution in Nigeria, India, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, Pakistan, Tanzania and Algeria, among others. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Morning Star News’ mission is two-fold: 1) to publish consistently credible information about persecution of Christians so that those in the free world can pray and otherwise offer help; 2) to strengthen persecuted Christians: The news encourages them that they are not forgotten and that they are not alone as they learn of the suffering of their brethren elsewhere.

Thank you again for your concern for the persecuted church.

In Him,

Jeff M. Sellers
CEO/Editor
