China (International Christian Concern) – A house church in southwest Shanxi province continues to face an ongoing crackdown, as church leaders and members are slapped with trumped-up charges and detained by the authorities.

Linfen Holy Covenant Church already had its leaders taken away on Aug. 19 and charged with “fraud” in late September. Now, even the members of the house church are targeted.

On October 27, Wu Tingting, a coworker at the church, was placed under Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location (RSDL) for her alleged involvement in “fraud.”

On November 1, Wang Qiang, another coworker from the church, was intercepted by the police and taken away before he could notify his family. A day later, his wife, Wen Huijuan, received a notice from the police that Wang had been placed under RSDL for “fraud.”

Wen is at seven months of her pregnancy and has a young daughter. She published a letter to Wang on November 7, telling him how much she missed him and hoped the Lord would vindicate them.

Linfen Holy Covenant Church is a brother church of the heavily persecuted Shanxi Xuncheng (Zion) Reformed Church. Both churches have been targeted since late 2018 and are subject to arbitrary arrests, harassment, raids, and fabricated charges.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for protection for leaders and members of this church. Pray for all unjust charges to be dropped. Pray for this congregation to shine the light of Christ in the face of harassment.
