Street evangelist Chen Wensheng spent 15 days in detention back in 2022 for his evangelism. Yet upon his release, he gave our Lord thanks that he was able to share the Gospel in two detention centers.

"Dear friends, please lift up those who heard the gospel in your prayers," Chen wrote!
Our Christian brother Chen has spent 130 total days locked up for his passionate street evangelism. He often travels with a Christian cap, a mask that says "Jesus Loves You," and clothing with different evangelical items on it.

Chen often shares the Gospel with police who are curious about him. Our media team reported in 2022 that officers often ask for Christian flyers!
"I used to be a gangster. My temper was so bad that I would assault people with a knife in minor arguments. I was a drug addict, but then I became a Christian. I changed a lot. I’m gentler and more patient now," Chen shared in 2022. What an amazing testimony!
Sadly, we've just heard that Chen was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months in jail on June 20th for "organizing and funding illegal gatherings."
He was originally tried in April 2024 with about 70-80 police and other officials surrounding the courthouse. Chen's family and friends were turned away from viewing the trial. Chen said he would appeal the sentence.
