Walking with the Persecuted Faithful: ChinaAid’s Latest Updates

Join us as we walk with the persecuted faithful. This week: ChinaAid has called an immediate press conference in Washington, DC; Kazakhstan has bowed to intense Chinese diplomatic pressure, prosecuting protesters who burned CCP flags in a bold stand against Beijing's transnational repression.

In a shocking ruling, authorities label a humble Christian home worship gathering an "unapproved religious venue," sentencing believers to six months’ imprisonment; Chinese Christians are fighting back with secret codes: the innocent cake emoji now stands for "prayer" to dodge ruthless surveillance on apps like WeChat. Heartbreaking: A frail 72-year-old Christian, wracked by untreated agony and hernia pain from inhumane neglect, had to be carried into court in visible torment.

Crisis Unfolding: Kazakhstan Caves to CCP | 10-Year Sentences for Protesting Xi's Regime

Nineteen Kazakh human rights defenders now face up to ten years in prison after Kazakhstan bowed to Chinese diplomatic pressure. The activists were charged with inciting ethnic hatred following a peaceful protest where they burned the Chinese flag and a portrait of Xi Jinping, spotlighting ongoing abuses in Xinjiang's internment camps. These camps target Muslim Kazakhs and Uyghurs with forced indoctrination, family separations, and religious suppression under the guise of de-extremification.

Despite arrests, advocates like Serikzhan Bilash persist in documenting victims' stories, revealing the CCP's expanding transnational repression. Stand against cross-border oppression—RSVP to ChinaAid's press conference, share this alert, and advocate for the persecuted today! Space is limited; early arrival is recommended. RSVP contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Story #2: 72-Year-Old Christian Carried into Court in Visible Agony | CCP’s Inhumane Neglect

In Suizhou, Hubei, 72-year-old Christian Song Yude was carried into court during a retrial, crippled by an untreated hernia after over two years in detention. Arrested in a 2023 raid targeting nearly 30 believers, Song and 27 others face charges of "organizing a cult to undermine the law"—a pretext for suppressing house church activities like prayers, sermons, and fellowships.

Defense lawyers demanded medical care and a trial halt, citing humanitarian needs, but the court separated his case amid judicial interference from higher authorities. This highlights the CCP's ongoing assault on religious freedom, where faith is criminalized and health ignored, yet believers endure with unyielding resolve. Families urge global scrutiny as the case unfolds. Stand with China's persecuted Christians—share this story, pray for Song Yude's healing, and advocate for religious freedom now! Learn More

Story #3: How Chinese Christians Evade CCP Surveillance with Emoji Code

In October 2025, authorities dismantled an underground house church in Xi'an, China, using WeChat surveillance to target members. Two brothers faced intense interrogations, phone confiscations, and job losses after refusing to denounce their pastor as fraudulent. The congregation, once gathering in a modest apartment, now worships online, grappling with isolation and the absence of communal rituals like Communion.

This reflects escalating CCP efforts to eradicate unregistered faiths, yet believers persist, praying for unwavering faithfulness amid fierce persecution. Stand with China's persecuted Christians—share this story, pray for their safety and justice, and advocate for religious freedom today. Learn More

Story #4: CCP Deems Humble Christian Home Worship Gathering “Unapproved Religious Venue"

In a stark violation of religious freedom, 58-year-old Lisu Christian Li Guiwen was sentenced to six months' imprisonment by Yunnan's Yuanmou County Court on December 18, 2025, for hosting home worship gatherings. Arrested on August 2 after two decades of opening his house to fellow villagers—upholding a century-old Lisu tradition—the volunteer faced charges of organizing illegal activities in an unapproved venue.

Despite defenses citing constitutional protections and no societal harm, the court confiscated religious materials (including sheet music) and upheld the conviction. Li's ordeal, ending February 1, underscores the CCP's tightening grip on unregistered house churches, leaving families shattered yet resilient in their devotion.

“Through these days, we have a live broadcast every day. We go into people's homes and not only bring people to Christ, but we are leading our underground churches to go out and be salt and light and have many stories of how Christians are on the streets. Some of them have been killed, arrested, and woundedWe know that, but Christians are on the streets helping people, sharing the gospel.

One person just called a couple of days ago. He said, “I just came to Christ. I was wounded on the streets of Tehran….So I was going home and one person pulled me into his home to help me.  And he brought a surgeon, brought a neighbor who knew how to do this. And he helped me to take the bullet off of my leg. And then they shared the gospel with me. I realized there are Christians who are helping me. So I came to Christ last night in that home." So Christians, Christians are active. They know their job is to be salt and light, and Christians are on the streets.”
