We haven’t been in touch about Professor Tarfa’s case for some time.

As you may remember, the professor, who co-founded the Du Merci orphanages in Kano and Kaduna States, Nigeria, has faced a series of false charges. He appears to have been targeted simply for running a Christian orphanage.

Since the good news, last June, of his acquittal from the most serious charges, his second trial has been subject to delay after delay – likely a tactic by Kano state authorities to put the Tarfas under even more financial and emotional strain.

Professor Tarfa returns to court tomorrow where he’ll be answering a final charge of forgery.

Please pray:

  • For justice to prevail and for the professor to be acquitted of this final false charge.
  • For physical and psychological protection for the 16 Du Merci children who remain in custody, and that the professor’s final acquittal would result in them being swiftly reunited with their parents.
  • Healing for Moses, who suffered severe burns under state care and is not receiving adequate treatment, and for the five youngest children (aged between four and eight) who were transferred to an isolated rural location, had their names changed and are showing signs of trauma.
  • Please join us in praying Jeremiah 29:11 over the whole Tarfa family: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Thank you for continuing to pray with us for this wonderful family.
