Sudan (International Christian Concern) – On April 10, a group of Islamic extremists attacked Christians praying in a church in the village of Hajj Abdallah. The village is located in Gezira state, which is in Central Sudan.

According to Middle East Concern, while the church was meeting for their Palm Sunday service, the extremists launched their violent attack. They beat the pastor, named Estefanos, in addition to attacking three more women. All four victims required medical treatment

The extremists also damaged church property in the attack, including Bibles, chairs, and tables.

Among the extremists was a police officer who filed a court case against Pastor Estefanos earlier this year for disturbing public order. The officer also had lodged a general noise complaint against the church. Pastor Estefanos was detained but was later released on bail.

The court hearing was scheduled for April 14, but the police offer who lodged the complaint did not attend. The next one was supposed to take place yesterday, April 25. There is no word yet as to the results.

Please join ICC in praying for healing for those injured during the recent attack. Please also pray for wisdom for the lawyers representing Pastor Estefanos and for the case to be dropped so that the Christians will be allowed to gather for worship safely.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for healing for all those who were injured. Pray for restoration of the property that was damaged. Pray for those responsible for the attack to come to know Christ.
