Philippines (International Christian Concern) – On November 6, a bomb planted inside a passenger bus detonated, killing one person and injuring eleven more.

The explosion occurred while the bus was at a terminal in the Sultan Kudarat province. Nine Muslims and two Catholics were injured.

A passenger on the bus during the explosion shared about the frightening encounter, with the Catholic media outlet UCA News. She said, “It happened so fast. The explosion was deafening, then I saw blood running down my legs. A piece of metal had pierced my thigh, and I saw blood all over the bus.”

The passenger continued, “It could have been me. I was saved, but one died, and several others were injured. I asked God why we were innocent, yet this happened. My family and I are just living a simple life, we are good citizens of this country.”

According to Sultan Kudarat Police Director Col. Christopher Bermudez, “Someone planted the bomb at the point of origin of the bus in Kidapawan City in Northern Cotabato. Then someone at the terminal [of arrival] in Sultan Kudarat province detonated it using a cellphone.”

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities suspect it was perpetrated by Islamic extremists who have been active in the region for decades.

Please pray for the victims of this attack.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for comfort for the grieving family. Pray for healing for the 11 who were injured during the attack. Pray for an end to Islamic extremism in the Philippines.
