Jailed Pastor John Cao Meets With His Mom
In what makes for encouraging news, jailed Pastor John Cao was able to meet with his mom face-to-face for the first time since 2019. In the prison meeting, Pastor John's mom told him about all of his supporters from across the world who were worried about his health and freedom. "Please tell fellow brothers and sisters from all over the world that I am healthy..." Pastor John replied.

Investigation Resumes Into Linfen Covenant Church
ChinaAid's media team reported on the continued 'investigation' into Linfen Covenant House Church. A few days ago, police summoned the wife of jailed Linfen Pastor Li Jie for two days of threats to "admit guilt" to fake fraud charges against the church. Officials later released Li Shanshan on bail but threatened to keep harassing her.

ChinaAid sources speculate these actions by officials could signify a new round of persecution against the church. Several Linfen preachers were arrested in August 2022 after police raided a church-sponsored outdoor family event.

Here's a few prayer requests from Linfen Covenant House Church members. Please join many in the global Body of Christ in praying these points.

  1. "Specifically pray for Zhang Youxi, head of the National Security Brigade of Linfen City, Raodu District, and pray for Li Gang of the Criminal Investigation Brigade. They learned a lot about churches and the Bible in their efforts to arrest brothers and sisters. May the Lord have mercy on them and help them understand the Gospel appropriately and repent. Pray for Wang Lixian, the procurator, hoping he can deal with the case with justice.

  2. The case is returned to the Bureau of Public Security for further investigation, may the Lord give brothers and sisters strength and boldness, hope we all will not betray the Lord or friends and confront persecution gently, firmly, and wisely instead.

  3. Intercede for the faith of brothers and sisters who were sued including three brothers—Li Jie, Han Xiaodong, and Wang Qiang, and 2 sisters—Wu Tingting and Li Shanshan, so that they stick to the truth, do not fear and testify to the Christ and the Church.

  4. Lift the appointed attorneys, may the Lord grant attorneys health, so they can meet defendants smoothly and keep the case proceeding with wisdom.
