Earlier this week, ChinaAid President Bob Fu attended an interfaith meeting on Capitol Hill hosted by the Chairman of the Select Committee on the CCP, Rep. Mike Gallagher. Pastor Pan of the Mayflower Church also attended the roundtable, and participated in a press conference with Bob, Congressman Chris Smith, and Congressman Nathaniel Moran. NGOs Rally For Human Rights Lawyers
ChinaAid joined many other groups in signing a statement highlighting the abuses and persecution against human rights lawyers like Ding Jiaxi, Xu Zhiyong, Chang Weiping, and many others in remembrance of the '709 Crackdown' in mid-July 2015.
The crackdown refers to efforts by the CCP at the time to arrest more than 300 rights lawyers and legal assistants. Here's how you can send an encouraging letter to Ding, Xu, and other bold freedom advocates jailed in China.
Pray for all human rights lawyers and assistants persecuted by the CCP.
Officials Try To Frame Street Evangelist
This month, well-known Chinese street evangelist Chen Wensheng revealed that government officials reportedly asked his friends to frame him due to his Gospel ministry. Sadly, Chen said some have already falsely accused him of betraying Christians.
“I solemnly promise before God that I will never betray any member I know or testify before the minions of the devil. Pray that God would grant the families strength and wisdom in the Lord and that they would not be deceived by the devil,” Chen said in June, a statement that has already led to one Christian admitting he was deceived and asking Chen for forgiveness.
