1 Peter 5:8-10
8-“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10And the GOD of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in CHRIST, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

Here’s a set of Scriptures that are meant to instruct Christians in dealing with our most hostile enemy, the devil himself. The words are very plain and simple to comprehend yet so many are still struggling trying to ‘fight’ the devil for their lack of faith,
Yes, they have faith, but for the most part where is that faith focused? Here are a few words to heed from today’s passage:
(1) v.8a “Be self-controlled and alert.” (2) v.9 “Resist him, standing firm in the faith.”

When we do what GOD’s Word says, the LORD rewards us:
v.10 “And the GOD of all grace…will Himself restore you, and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” —Satan is a liar. Resist him, renounce him, reject him!! He has no authority over us since we’ve been forgiven and cleansed by the Blood of CHRIST! Our FATHER is the GOD of all grace, and His grace is sufficient to make us strong, firm and steadfast in CHRIST!

JESUS defeated Satan at the cross and has set the stage for humanity to finally get liberated from the hands of the devil. CHRIST JESUS has promised freedom from the devil’s control and through faith in Him, we are justified, and made to be more than conquerors!!

Prayer:
FATHER GOD, thank You for CHRIST JESUS’ great sacrifice on the cross to rescue me from my worst enemy—the devil. Now that I’ve been set free, I pray for daily strength to resist the devil. I ask that Your HOLY SPIRIT will make me strong, firm and steadfast. May I be used by You to help others know and understand that You have equipped us with everything we need to stand up against Satan in the Mighty Name of JESUS.
Amen.

Praying For You,
