2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to show yourself approved unto GOD, a
workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
After commenting about false teachers in the previous verse, Paul urges Timothy to view himself as a worker seeking to please GOD. Any worker or servant should desire to satisfy the expectations of his or her boss. Timothy was to view his work for GOD in the same way.
Many rather than wanting to please GOD seek to please men. Ministers sometimes think about how their messages will be taken by men rather saying what GOD has laid in their heart. Let your life goal be to please GOD. GOD Almighty showcased JESUS CHRIST. HE said this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. One of the ways you can please Him is to consistent study of the Word of GOD. You will never regret it, and you will be blessed with the favors of GOD!!
Prayer:
LORD GOD, please help me to understand that I am called to believe in You, serve You and honor You in my life. Help me to prioritize the study of Your Word that I can improve and grow in my Christian faith. I know as I do so You will bless me because You will approve of me. I am humbled and also proud of who I am in CHRIST JESUS my Lord. Shame must have no place in my thoughts in JESUS’ holy Name. I desire to remain committed in the study of Your Word, for Your praise and glory, in the great and mighty Name of JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
