John 15:10
"If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my FATHER's commands and remain in His love"
1 Peter 4:8-9
"Therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling."
We must keep loving each other, using God's gifts to serve each other with God's power in and through us, so all the glory goes to Him. Peter continues to describe how Christians should respond when faced with persecution: Take on Christ's attitude, and expect God's purpose for your life to include suffering.
Prayer:
Loving FATHER, You are the fountain of love, mercy and grace, knowing this, we revel in the promises of Your love for all creation and for mankind in particular. Your love transcends all understanding, for our limited minds ensconced in sinfulness cannot comprehend Your kind of love which has no measure and no boundaries. By the power and presence of Your SPIRIT in us, direct us, guide us and lead us to live and love the way You have always loved us in the most gracious Name of Your Son, CHRIST JESUS ... Amen.
In His Love,
