Christian Persecution, discrimination and violence has only increased over the past several months due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Extremists are using the lockdowns as cover to starve Christians. One such victim of injustice was Sughra Bibi, a pregnant 30-year-old Pakistani mother of six who starved to death this month.
Pakistan has been on lockdown for well over a month in an attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus. Due to the lockdown, Sughra’s husband, Allah Baksh, could not find work which caused him to face daily problems feeding his family. To help provide wages and food for those who are the worst hit economically, the Pakistani government unveiled a number of proposals for daily wage earners, such as Allah, but there have been reports of discrimination in the distribution of food rations. This inequity eventually led to Sughra’s death, leaving her six children motherless and her husband a widower.
No child should be left motherless due to lack of food. Save the Persecuted Christians is working with the government of Hungary's Secretariat for Aid to Persecuted Christians Hungary Helps program to get direct aid to local Pakistan Christian communities.
We've also asked President Trump and the World Bank to ensure that aid given to Pakistan require proof that it has been distributed fairly and without bias.
As a nonprofit organization, much of the good we are able to do is attributed to the generosity of people such as yourself. We cannot fight religious persecution and anti-Christian violence on our own, we need the support of our brothers and sisters in Christ to help pave the way. $5, $50 or $500 goes farther than you think to help families like Allah's.
We are so grateful to those who have already answered the call to help.Thank you! If you are able to support our work elevating stories of persecuted men, women and children all over the world, please donate today. And, prayerfully consider making a small monthly contribution, $30 or less, to help sustain our SaveUs Movement for the long run.
Keep Allah, his six children, and all those suffering in Pakistan and around the world in your prayers. Together, our prayer will make an impact.
Thank you for your support and supplications, they mean more than you know!
Sincerely, your sister in Christ,
Dede Laugesen Executive Director Save the Persecuted Christians #SaveUs
