Communist Emblem Next To Church Sign
Earlier in July, ChinaAid learned that a hammer and sickle, the emblem of the Chinese Communist Party, was placed next to the sign of Shinian Christian Church in Zhejiang province.
A pastor in the area reported local religious affairs officials requested “all religious venues must put up large signs at their entrances that say ‘love the Chinese communist party, love the country, and love the religion’ and ‘uphold the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context.’” Did you know persecuting Christians in Zhejiang often helps CCP officials get promoted?
Pray for all Christians in Zhejiang and their persecutors.
Four Shengjia Church Members Arrested
CCP officials officially arrested Shengjia Church Pastor Deng Yanxiang and three colleagues for "illegal business operations." Police raided the church's education center on May 24th and the formal arrest notice comes after the church members were criminally detained.
Shengija Church posted a note which reads “They are innocent. They are kind, loving, and honest people. They actively participate in public service. They are well respected among colleagues and neighbors. They have a very good reputation. Law enforcement imposed huge social harm by arresting people without discerning between good and bad.” Here's photos of some of the Christians who were arrested.
Pray for Pastor Deng, the three Christian co-workers, and their persecutors.
Christian Group Leaders Tried For Fraud
News emerged this week that two leaders of a Christian young adult group were tried for fraud by a court in Anhui province. Mu En was handed a 3.5-year sentence and a fine, while Enoch Wang was jailed for 3 years and fined.
Both led the Hefei Youth Fellowship which grew to nearly two hundred participants, many of whom were students or young Christians just entering the workforce. Here's how CCP officials blackmailed the group into signing a false document claiming the Youth Fellowship cheated them out of money.
Pray for Mu and Enoch, their families, the Youth Fellowship, and their persecutors.
