American partners have visited the exiled Mayflower Church in Jeju Island, South Korea to protect the congregation from potential kidnapping attempts by CCP agents.

USCIRF Releases Report on Religious Freedom in Nicaragua

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) today released the following new report:

China: Zhang Chenghao's wife suddenly detained

On the morning of August 5, a trial was held against minister An Yankui and Zhang Chenghao of Zion Reformed Church. 

China: House church faces fines totaling over $5 million

A house church in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, faces a hefty fine as authorities continue to crack down on house churches that are not registered with the government and therefore deemed “illegal.”

Iraqi security officials write negative report on Christian team

Security officials in Iraq recently wrote a negative report on an evangelical team with Redemptive Stories. Samuel says, “It just outlined some activities that they had done and highlighted individual persons within their organization, reporting on some of the things that they had done.”

Christian Father and Son Stabbed in Egypt in String of Incidents

A Christian father and son in Egypt were attacked by a known radical on July 28 just outside the father’s shop. 43-year-old Joseph Israel and his son were stabbed in the Omranya district of Giza in the early morning hours.

Six Christian Women Jailed in India

Last week, on July 30, six Christian women were arrested and jailed in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on charges of forced conversion

Second Attack in Seven Weeks in Nigeria’s Ondo State

ICC previously reported on the attack on a Catholic church that left dozens dead in Owo, a village in Nigeria’s Ondo State. Just seven weeks later, on July 27, the same village was attacked again.

Turkish Textbook Touts Armed Jihad

In Turkey, a 12th-grade religious studies book widely used in public schools promotes armed jihad. The book, the 2019 edition of Fundamentals of Islam’s Religious Beliefs, asserts that armed jihad is a necessary practice for all Muslims and that opponents of Islam today slander the concept of armed jihad by associating it with “bad examples.”

At 3:06 AM on August 3, Yin Zhixiu, mother of former elder Hao Ming of Early Rain Qingcaodi Church in Deyang, passed away.

Ugandan extremists attack Christian evangelists

In late July, Muslim extremists came to the home of a Christian in Uganda and killed him. His wife and four children hid in another room during the attack. 

Two Chinese Church Leaders Have Day in Court 

International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that the preacher and a church coworker from Xuncheng Reformed Church in China’s Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, arrested in November 2021 for “illegal border crossing,” finally had their day in court Friday, Aug. 5.
